WGL - Manager Transportation Fleet

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Manages the daily activities of assigned staff, including task assignment, evaluating, training, performance management, compensating, motivating, coaching, and developing processes and procedures to ensure the achievement of goals.

• Develops and implements long-term strategy for transportation fleet, including standardization of fleet and vehicle life cycle.

• Manages capital and operations and maintenance (O&M) budget for the fleet.

• Develops and implements an alternate fuel strategy that includes capturing government credits and incentives.

• Develops specifications for vehicles and power operated equipment and sources these as necessary along with material, parts, and fuel.

• Develops, implements and tracks fuel reduction strategies.

• Manages fleet maintenance facilities and oversees maintenance work performed by vendors.

• Represents the Company’s interests before external audiences, including expert witness testimony and contractual negotiations as required.

• Manages all aspects of the fleet information systems, including the Transportation Information Management System (Fleetwave), Fuel Management Systems (FleetCor/APEX) and interfaces with other WG information systems and databases.

• Maintains records of the fleet; prepares, tracks and analyzes the budget; tracks the acquisition and disposition of vehicles and activities of the vehicle preparation shop, all fleet licensing, accident claims process and body shop operations, warranty claims, CNG fueling systems, required maintenance programs and reporting of fleet and maintenance facilities.

• Manages compliance with Federal, state, local, EPA and DOT laws and regulations affecting WG’s fleet operations.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required

• 7+ Years Experience related to fleet management and/or fleet maintenance.

• 2-4 Years supervisory experience

• NAFA Certified Automotive Fleet Manager or Specialist certification preferred

• Demonstrated working knowledge of contract administration, especially as related to transportation management and the responsibilities of this job.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal, state and local regulations as related to fleet and fleet facilities, including those from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).

• Demonstrated working knowledge of the procedures and equipment used in fleet maintenance operations and computerized transportation management systems.

• Experience with CNG, and CNG fueling systems preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors, subordinates and peers.

• Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to meet numerous and competing internal and external deadlines, often under tight time constraints.

• Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, for data management, research, analysis and reporting purposes.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems.

• Successful track record of guiding work groups or teams to successful outcomes.

We offer a competitive salary range of $108,000 to $162,0 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
