Farnsworth Group is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Engineer in our St. Louis, MO office. In this role, you will have an opportunity to join a growing renewables team and play a key role in the company’s future growth within the renewables group as apart of Farnsworth’s Energy and Utility division. This is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership, project management, and technical knowledge within this expanding industry.

Job Activities:

  • Assist with engineering and land development assessments, surveys, studies, permits for clients

  • Support proposal development including fee estimating, schedules, and writing of proposal letters along with coordination with the proposal team

  • Support project coordination with various project team stakeholders including but not limited to client representatives, internal departments (i.e. survey and electrical), subcontractors, subconsultants, and other renewables team members including mentoring opportunities of staff

  • Support management of community (1-20 MW) and utility scale (100+ MW) renewable projects including solar, wind and battery storage (BESS)

  • Work directly with developers and EPCs (engineering, procurement and construction) organizations to obtain local and state permits, interconnection, and other potential involved agencies approval

  • Observe construction at field locations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications

Specific Requirements include:

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution

  • 1 – 5 years of related experience

  • Knowledge of land development, permitting processes, and interconnection procedures

  • Direct experience in full life-cycle development of utility scale projects – battery storage experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with all facets of land development: landowner engagement, title resolution, agricultural land use/water restrictions, land surveys, GIS, environmental assessments

  • Knowledge of applicable codes such as NESC, ASCE, ASME, ASTM, NEC, ANSI, IEEE
