Job Description

The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role will have five or more years of progressive accounting experience.  They may already know the event planning industry or have project accounting experience. The ideal candidate is willing and able to do all required accounting functions ranging from journal entries, recurring entries, fixed assets, prepaid entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, notes payable, notes receivable, inter-company billing, inter-company payables and receivables, sales and use tax, and personal property taxes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to grow into a manager as the team grows with growing needs of both our suite of live event companies and Canon City property companies. 

We are a small department in need of an intelligent, self-motivated person to manage the financial process for our related entities, as well as successfully execute essential department functions such as program reconciliations. This person will not be micro-managed, so it is imperative you are a self-starter who can work successfully, accurately, and timely with limited supervision.

Successful Candidates will have. the following:

  • 5+ Years Accounting Experience

  • Professional at all times 

  • Effective written and oral business communication skills 

  • Superior customer service skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Works well with internal and external clients 

  • Successful project and time management skills

  • Ability to think through and research new issues and opportunities that may arise from changes in accounting guidelines or business expansion in order to create new solutions for our family of brands. 

  • Must understand debits and credits and have experience posting journal entries, managing cash flows, and analyzing balance sheets and income statements

  • Technically savvy – Intermediate Microsoft Office experience required

  • Experience with financial accounting systems required; Deltek Vantagepoint, and/or QuickBooks Online software a plus

What you would be doing at Unbridled:

  • Inter-Department billing done accurately and timely

  • Assist with all aspects of program reconciliations for other departments/entities as needed

  • Assist with revenue forecasting as needed

  • Sales and other local tax filings

  • Assisting with special projects as they arise covering all standard fields of accounting and finance

  • Basic understanding of Federal Tax Credits, a plus if Historic Tax Credits

  • Month-end close to include:

  • Accounts Payable

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Intercompany billing & reconciliation

  • Fixed Asset reconciliation and monthly depreciation journal entries for all entities

  • Work with Technology team to determine disposals across all entities on a quarterly basis

  • Prepaid reconciliation and expense entry

  • Assisting with closeout of Bank Reconciliations

  • A strong entrepreneurial drive to find and create process efficiencies across a number businesses spanning multiple industries 

  • Must embody the Unbridled brand and culture, including: character, change, credibility, and community.
