Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Ambulatory Clinic RN to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department and Pain Management Clinicteam! Position Summary: Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse's competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program. Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients. Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service. We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient-centered RN with strong interpersonal skills to join the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department and Pain Management Clinic! The Pain Management Clinic is led by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pain psychologists, and physical and occupational therapists. The team works together to help patients learn new ways to manage pain, optimize function, and enhance wellbeing and quality of life. This RN will contribute to the patient experience and daily workflow of the clinic by performing the following duties: Patient Education: Provide education to patients and families on what to expect during office visits and procedures, general and individualized pain management recommendations, and specific pre- and post-procedure instructions. Triage: Assist RNs with telephone responsibilities, answering incoming calls and taking and communicating messages to RNs and clinicians. Procedures: Assist with procedure room and medication set-up. Prepare patients per protocol for procedures such fluoroscopy-guided spinal injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablations. Administer sedation as needed. Other procedures include: EMG, ultrasound-guided injections, trigger point injections, and Botox. Monitor patients during and after procedure, and document patient outcomes. Room and discharge clinic patients, review medications. Administer immunizations and IM medications as needed. Refill medications per protocol. Complete disability, FMLA, and worker's compensation paperwork as needed. Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, department in-services and workshops, and other educational opportunities to enhance patient safety and experience. Perform additional duties as assigned. Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am - 5:00pm Required Qualifications: Graduated from a school of nursing. Associate degree or diploma required. Maintain a current state certified registered nurse's licensure. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served. Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multitask. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred.
