Role Summary/Purpose:

The Cobrand Client Team is looking for a collaboration minded, multi-talented person to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working on a team and loves a good challenge.

The AVP, C lient Technology Leader is an individual contributor working in Synchrony's Technology organization. The candidate will drive the day-to-day operations of the Virgin Red credit program and its related technologies, delivering continual service improvements, developing the platform and maintaining operational metrics. This role will be responsible for driving technology solutions to meet growth, productivity, and compliance objectives for our retail partner.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide relationship management, project management, production support, and technical expertise for Synchrony partners under the Digital sales platform

  • Manage technology relationships with external partners and internal cross-functional business teams

  • Develop creative solutions to support business strategy or resolve issues by applying Synchrony's technology capabilities

  • Drive and support technology development initiatives leveraging Agile processes, including client integration and functional/user acceptance testing

  • Maintain and communicate project status, milestones and critical issues with various stakeholders (leadership, business, client, and technology)

  • Develop understanding of partner's systems environment and technology processes, and ensure alignment between Synchrony and partner's technology teams

  • Collaborate with Synchrony Technology teams to identify opportunities and develop solutions for enterprise initiatives that enhance functionality, simplify or automate processes, and improve productivity across the organization

  • Create and maintain documentation in knowledge repositories related to partner technology integration, products, and processes

  • Participate in on-call rotation for Synchrony production issues that impact partners and cardholders

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Technology experience, equivalent Synchrony leadership program experience, OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of Technology experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with leading initiatives, including gathering business requirements, planning and defining enhancements, and execution/delivery using Waterfall/SDLC or Agile frameworks

  • Superior verbal, written, and client communication skills, as well as the ability to manage expectations of the business, partners, team members, leadership, and external groups

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in managing relationships with external clients

  • Experience in payments, banking, or financial services industries

  • Experience with Agile framework/methodologies, including proficiency with JIRA or related tools

  • Experience with API integrations, including design, testing support, and troubleshooting

  • Experience and knowledge of online technologies and development approaches

  • Experience with Fiserv payments platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in a distributed organization with leveraged resources across various business and technology teams

  • Strong business acumen to understand Synchrony's and retail partner's business processes

  • Strong customer and client focus, with ability to manage expectations

  • Possess critical thinking, analytical, and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated competency with linking business strategy with technology initiatives

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
