Quality Specialist Description: The Quality Specialist will be a team member providing an independent review of the Quality System processes, within the supply base. The Quality Specialist ensures completion of the process to an acceptable standard, and delivery of a quality product to the customer at the launch of a new product.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Responsible for providing; on-site support at suppliers' facilities to ensure launch readiness as required leading up to and including after program launch. • Work cross-functionally with Powertrain Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure viable and technical proficient suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected. • Driving change within both plant manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve component issues, as well as ensure component suppliers' processes are robust and capable. • Will lead problem solving activities with internal and external organizations, as well as manage key component quality milestones. • Travel may be required (approximately 20%) to supplier locations and other facility locations in U.S. and Canada and possibly Mexico.

Quality Specialist Requirements: • Bachelor's degree required • Reactive Black Belt and Green Belt training and completed projects • A minimum of 10 years of Powertrain Manufacturing or Engineering experience • A minimum of 5 years Powertrain Quality experience • Thorough understanding of Engines & Driveline components • Thorough understanding of Quality and Supplier Operations • Thorough understanding of structured problem solving and root cause analysis • Ability to stand and be on your feet long periods of time in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements: • Black Belt or Green Belt certification • Experience launching engine programs • Manufacturing, design release, and or supplier quality experience are strongly desired • Knowledge of engines, transmissions, and driveline components strongly desired • Experience working in a lean/flat organization with cross functional skills • Work with internal teams to develop and implement integrated content required to drive growth and maximize customer value • Provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunities • Ability to lead without direct authority • Strong communication skills. • Ability to build partnerships both internally and externally • Capable of planning and prioritizing including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create action plans • Experience and ability to follow ISO/TS16949 and APQP processes to launch and monitor engine manufacturing. • The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of developing and executing standardization, especially within the area of Powertrain. • The successful candidate must possess outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills. • The candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions and leadership presence. • This person is by nature a risk-taker and has a high level of ambition. Of equal importance, this person must have unquestioned integrity.
