Norman Rockwell Museum is a drug-free workplace. The Position The museum store associate will greet and orient visitors to the Museum, engaging them with a positive and upbeat personality. This position is key in providing a positive end-of-visit experience to guests and will help visitors choose products to commemorate their visit and encourage at-home engagement in the arts. Core Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure a welcoming environment that delivers on our commitment to presentation and cleanliness - Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times. Provide quick, courteous and efficient assistant to customers - Assist customers with purchases including retrieving prints not on display and providing support in finding merchandise in the store - Cash handling, tagging, marking down products, entering sales in POS - Replenishing inventory, stocking and displaying merchandise in an attractive and neat manner - General tidiness and cleaning of store - Answer phone, directing calls as needed - Document merchandise, customer problems and solutions - Promoting membership, exhibitions, and upcoming programming - Attend monthly training within the Museum - Perform other duties as needed Qualifications: ServSafe, TIPS Certified preferred, with excellent communication skills. Able to work in busy environment and ability to courteously and efficiently manage a line. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods. Lift, push, pull up to 25 lbs. Accommodation is available. Experience: 1 + years of experience preferred. Willing to train. Rate of Pay: \$17-18 per hour General Hours: The museum is open 6 days a week to the public, closed Wednesdays. The position is part time with flexible schedule, up 30 hours or more per week. The dress code is artful business casual, occasional event and business attire, in a setting surrounded by beautiful gardens, art and architecture.
