Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Administers radiation therapy treatments under the direction and approved treatment plans of a radiation therapy physician. Localizes patients on the simulator machine. Collects data needed by dosimetry for treatment planning. May perform dose calculations. This position requires providing care/service to a critically ill through adolescents through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served

  • Allows for privacy and modesty in the provision of care.

  • Identifies self by name and title to patient/family.

  • Determines presence/type of Advanced Directive.

  • Reports suspected cases of abuse/neglect, if identified.

  • Understands role of, and how to access, the Bioethics Committee.

  • Establishes presence of consent prior to treatment/procedures

  • Completes initial care within required time frames.

  • Performs subsequent care at required intervals.

  • Ensures physical care includes all pertinent body systems.

  • Ensures psycho-social care includes actual/potential needs.

  • Incorporates cultural and ethnic factors into care.

  • Correctly differentiates between normal/abnormal findings.

  • Incorporates functional/developmental age into care: newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

  • Provides for the educaiton of the patient/family.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • California Board and National Board certified in Radiation Therapy.

  • CT CPRBLS;CT RTT;CT ARRT

  • Minimum one (1) year experience preferred.

Pay Range

$63.02- $72.70 /hour
