Responsibilities Operate large, complex riding lawn mower (e.g., multiple and independently controlled cutting decks) and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention. Equipment characteristics include single function performance and components that are independently controlled through various hydraulic and/or mechanical devises. Performs tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases, and detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground for sod, flowers and shrubs) following drawings, and specifications. Skill and knowledge to operate and control large, complex riding mowers and similar type mowing equipment in areas that require constant attention to working space and environment. Skilled in the operation of various controls and levers to maneuver equipment, and lift/lower, adjust, engage/disengage components or attached devices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Demonstrated work experience that includes the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position as indicated above. The Stuttgart Lodging facilities operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year and are staffed around the clock. Scheduled tour of duty is irregular and rotational, to include mornings, evenings, nights, overnights, weekends, and US and German holidays. You will be required to work at all Stuttgart Lodging facilities during all shifts, based on staffing requirements. FWS Allowances and Differentials All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Foreign Overseas Allowances Allowances, differentials, or incentives not be paid. Post allowance for RFT positions may be paid in accordance with the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR), contingent upon eligibility.
