Description If you're looking to take your career into the Bank - Savings & Loan industry, there is a terrific permanent position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Sugar Land, Texas area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Responsibilities

• Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

• Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

• Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

• Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

• Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Solid understanding of account reconciliation

• Banking Industry experience

• Knowledge of journal entries

• Deep understanding of University Degree

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

• Experience with ERP systems

• Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
