BluePearl Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine in Summerville, South Carolina
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Summerville, SC is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to split their time between our Internal Medicine & Oncology departments.
*$5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates!*
Pay: $22.00 - $40.50 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool
* Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience*
As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...
Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
Comfortable around chemotherapy drugs
High level of comfortability speaking with clients
Proficient with placing IVCs and drawing blood
Additional job duties as assigned.
