Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Distinguished Engineer focused on developing a Server Driven UI platform spanning complex frontend platforms (ie web, iOS, Android, frontend APIs, enterprise & domain specific language). The candidate will assist LinkedIn with shaping the future of Product Development spanning all products and help us establish a unified product infrastructure strategy to guide the product development at LinkedIn.

The project brings technical complexities and challenges that require domain expertise. We are looking for industry leaders in this space. The project spans across all product organizations with external-facing offerings, making it expansive in scope. We require an IC capable of coordinating across various teams, from CI/CD to observability to developer experience. As the project progresses, we'll need architectural guidance, covering different aspects of the project from dev experience to project operations.

Responsibilities:

Hands-on tech lead for the entire system, end-to-end, to reimagine LinkedIn's product dev life-cycle​.

Experience delivering a Server Driven UI architecture at large scale and can assist us shape the future of Product Development at LinkedIn.

Has a strong product sense and can articulate why a specific user flow is beneficial or detrimental. Additionally, be able to articulate how a particular product flow can tie to the success of the business.

Can connect the product strategy with the engineering infrastructure strategy and assist in establishing success criteria for our infrastructure projects.

Hands on. Be proficient in delving deep into the codebase when necessary and be capable of independently developing complex aspects of the project.

Should be able to articulate problems and solutions on the spot.

Persuasive, and being able to convince others about the mission, goals, and roadmaps.

Preference for moving forward, even if the information is incomplete or uncertain, rather than remaining stagnant or overly cautious.

Ability to make decisions based on the best available information, then adjust as needed.

Instead of spending a lot of time in planning, engineers quickly create prototypes or minimum viable products (MVPs) to validate ideas and get feedback.

Being open to changing course if initial actions don't yield the desired results, rather than sticking rigidly to a predetermined path.

Basic Qualifications

15+ years of software development experience

5+ years of experience in large distributed systems

Background in Server Driven UI platform spanning complex subsystems including Web, iOS, Android, SDUI, Frontend API, Enterprise & Domain Specific Language​

Background in Product Sense who can articulate why a specific user flow is beneficial or detrimental​.

Background in Front-end architecture / User experience infrastructure​.

Experience with shipped cross platform projects.

Background in coaching and mentoring fellow engineers in their careers.

Experience with architectural patterns of large, high scale systems.

Background in attracting, retaining, and developing top engineering and operations talent throughout the industry.

Minimum BA/BS degree

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $216,000 to $355,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
