The LinkedIn Core Engineering Technical Program Management Group is looking for a Sr. level Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our core engineering team. The LinkedIn TPM role is highly diversified and includes initiating, planning, and executing intermediate to large scale, cross-functional, and company-wide programs. The TPM will be responsible for the strategies, execution, processes, tools, & techniques to lead data and AI platform programs across LinkedIn. The right candidate will have experience and interest in data and AI technology. The data and AI platform organization is building the next-generation infrastructure and platforms for LinkedIn, best-in-class AI platform, experimentation platform, privacy and compliance platform. You will work and learn among the best, putting to use your passion for driving large scale programs.

You will establish and manage the right program management practices and frameworks with the engineering team. The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills, and can execute and deliver successfully in a matrix setup / situations where authority is not a given. Influence, collaboration and leadership across functional lines is essential.

This role will be based in Sunnyvale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead programs to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths

• Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure program success

• Provide reporting as necessary on project status, risks, issues and mitigation plans

• Define metrics and indicators on the program health.

• Be responsible for overall delivery of the program/product.

• Drive collaboration to help solve complex problems.

• Work with PM and Engineers to build strategy and long-term plan on how to execute the strategy.

• Experience working autonomously in a fast paced, high-growth, and results orientated environment that demands excellence.

• Strong ability to navigate through ambiguity and solve complex problems.

• Make data informed decisions to steer the product and strategy.

• Lead Planning, execution and delivery of cross-functional initiatives. 

• Partner with all levels of management on project execution and team efficiency. 

• Drive quarterly roadmap and resource planning activities and deliverables.

• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation, and learning.

• Coach and mentor others in the best practices of modern planning and execution

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S./B.A. Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

• 3+ years professional experience in an engineering or technical team, managing technical programs/project

• Experience building scalable infrastructure and understanding of application integrations.

• Ability to drive critical initiatives for the organization. 

• Experience managing project management tools e.g. JIRA, Smartsheet, MS project

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in data and/or AI platform technologies

• Experience managing software development programs or projects

• Practical and advanced understanding of managing the lifecycle of large-scale programs and projects

• Excellent communication skills; skilled at cross-functional and cross-organizational communication and attention to detail

• Ability to traverse both vertically and horizontally in a large organization

• Experience with software engineering practices and familiarity with coding techniques

• Mastered Agile methods and practices through multiple teams (Scrum and Kanban)

• Successfully traverse tactical and strategic objectives

• Experience in planning and collaboration tools e.g. Viva, Smartsheet

The pay range for this role is $108,000 - $178,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
