STAFF ACCOUNTANT - REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT FIRM IN SUWANEE

We are searching for a dedicated Staff Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry located in Suwanee, Georgia. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions including financial statement production, cash flow projections, budgeting, and pay application processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity for accounting professionals looking to develop their skills and contribute to a dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Controller to successfully complete the month end, quarter end, and year end closing process.

  • Prepare and record journal entries.

  • Develop and maintain budgets related to real estate and property management.

  • Process and confirm accuracy of construction pay applications.

  • Assist with underwriting investment opportunities.

  • Review, analyze, and communicate findings from financial data and banking/lender requirements.

  • Manage fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation.

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements.

  • Contribute to the internal controls and procedures ensuring GAAP compliance.

  • Maintain thorough and organized financial records.

  • Regularly communicate with outside investors.

    Requirements

  • Must possess strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Demonstrable proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

  • Experience with Bank Reconciliations is crucial

  • Proficiency in managing General Ledger is necessary

  • Must have experience in making Journal Entries

  • Familiarity with Month End Close processes is essential

  • Proficiency in using Sage 100 software is required

  • Must have a strong understanding of and experience in the Real Estate & Property industry

  • Experience as a Staff Accountant in a similar industry will be advantageous

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy in high volume environments

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
