Philips CT/AMI Gantry Platform Director in Suzhou, China

The role requires to develop and maintain a roadmap for the gantry sub-system in collaboration with other sub-system and system teams. Successful roadmap development requires staying up-to-date with competitive moves and understanding the possibilities offered by supplier led and in-house innovation.

You are responsible for

  • Creating and driving a sub-system roadmap for gantry in collaboration with other system and platform teams

  • Responsible for the budget of the organization and for management of headcount

  • Development of role-based competence and training plans

  • Execution of development and life-cycle management of gantry projects in time, quality and budget

  • Understand external factors including: Regulatory, Customers, Competition, and Industry trends

  • Drives functional excellence including: Professionalism in domain expertise, Building up of strong, innovative teams with world class productivity, Promote domain knowledge, system thinking, and customer understanding

  • Drives close collaboration with other R&D departments and PMO to ensure effective and efficient product development execution.

  • Maintain relationships with external partners like suppliers and customers, and other internal functions such as Innovation, Operations, Customer Service, Procurement and Marketing.

  • Utilizes Philips Excellence Process Framework and Philips Integrated IT landscape for I2M to drive productivity and quality.

  • Enables process management including: Support for all global initiatives, Prioritization of team goals, Enable adequate coverage for deliverables, Build and promote strong processes, Drives accountability across the team

  • Exemplifies global thinking including: Promoting openness to learning things and leverage others’ capabilities, Sharing capabilities across global locations, Building an environment of trust

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.

  • Deep knowledge and experience in electromechanical systems.

  • 10+ years of experience working as an Engineer or in a similar field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a R&D group leader or equivalent.

  • Experience in a regulated / process-oriented environment such as medical device development

  • Experience with medical imaging systems preferred

  • Strong team management capability and experience to manage teams across different locations

  • Proven track record in platform development with demontrated creativity and innovation

  • Can work with all levels people internally and externally

  • Business proficiency in English

  • Master degree or above in a technical domain. R&D functional management and product development program management working experience, six sigma BB is a plus.

  • 10+ years of experience working as an Engineer or in a similar field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a R&D leader, demonstrated seasoned leadership in managing a sizable global engineering team across different locations and strong capability in managing complicated product design and development with tracking record.

  • Worked in a highly regulated environment. Experience in healthcare/med-tech solutions businesses preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency in management tools and procedures for setting and tracking performance, quality, time and cost and making sound decisions.

  • Technical and problem-solving skills in (model driven) software engineering and hardware, including platform and modularity development.

  • Strong communication capability from top to bottom and functional leadership skills such as organization strategy development, people management and talent development, x-functional influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution etc.

  • Consistent track record in change management and the ability to handle cultural differences.

  • Business proficiency in English

  • Proven track record in platform development with demonstrated creativity and innovation
