Position Summary:

This is a very exciting role based out of Taipei, which will have the opportunity to transform and improve the customer experience for our local Thermo Fisher Scientific Taiwan customers. The Senior Manager will be accountable for all in country supply chain and customer service activities, responsible for leading a multi-functional and muti-divisional team cutting across Thermo Fisher product segments and categories, while also being a member of the Taiwan leadership team. With full end to end ownership of order management and order fulfillment processes, this candidate will need to be a well-rounded individual with broad experience able to work effectively across multiple functionalities, to drive comprehensive and balanced solutions. As the primary operations lead in Taiwan, an extremely strong sense of personal and team ownership and accountability is required, whether it is to resolve day to day issues, or determine the longer term strategy. Comfort dealing with and guiding a team through high levels of ambiguity, while still being decisive working within a very fast paced environment will be key factors to your success in this role.

What will you do?

Your key responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Lead a multi functional team and department consisting of Planning & Procurement, Logistics & Warehousing, and Customer Service in support of local Taiwan customer order fulfilment and distribution

  • Build and develop a high-performing team with the necessary capability & skills, delegating and empowering them with the required resources and responsibilities

  • Partner with Local Commercial, Finance, Legal, Regulatory teams, and Regional/Global operational teams to ensure the appropriate infrastructure and processes are in place to support Taiwan GTM strategy and business aspiration, while driving consistent customer fronting experience across divisions

  • Enable customer service teams to effectively handle customer inquires, fully understand customer requirements and expectations, drive internal order fulfilment processes, and pro-active customer communication regarding shipment transparency, schedule, special instructions etc

  • Ensure that the Taiwan country level customer service function and their processes are aligned and integrated across the order-to-cash process based on the defined regional and global framework

  • Lead the revenue forecast and backlog management process for each division operating in Taiwan, Proactively drive activities with functional partners to identify and close gaps to the operating plan.

  • Implement structured local S&OP and demand and supply planning processes that ensure the proper balance between demand, supply, inventory, and warehouse capacity

  • Develop and execute upon local logistics, and warehouse strategy, including footprint, 3PL, and freight forwarder selection, while effectively managing domestics logistics budget and activities for operations

  • Embrace PPI, Drive multi-functional process optimization, digitization, and productivity initiatives across quote to cash, procure to pay, and logistics processes, ensuring common practices, disciplines, systems, metrics, and compliance requirements that make the best use of available resources and ensure an efficient organization across the Thermo Fisher Scientific portfolio

  • Lead and facilitate collaboration between manufacturing sites and supply chain functions to maximize customer service while balancing inventory investment and operating expense

  • Implement, track, report, and improve upon key performance metrics such as Customer Allegiance Score, CRD Past Due, On Time In Full and On Time to Promise, Inventory Fill Rates, DOS, E&O, Transportation & Warehousing Cost and productivity

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Supply Chain related experience

  • 5+ years leading a cross functional supply chain team

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration preferred, similar majors may be considered in conjunction with relevant on the job experience

  • APICS Certification preferred; CFPIM and CSCP are highly desirable

  • Experience in Life Sciences, Bio-tech, or Pharmaceutical Industry preferred

  • Very strong sense of personal ownership, and self-accountability

  • Fluency in both English, and Mandarin

  • Experience working with multiple ERP’s: SAP / Oracle Enterprise One (E1) preferred

  • Experience managing 3PL providers
