Job Description

The Cloud Adoption Architect (CAA) owns the consumption of the OCI services procured by the customer and would be the trusted advisor to customer in their cloud migration journey. He / she would help them to mature their OCI deployments and help them realize the full business value of their OCI deployments. The CAA will work with our customers to review their operational best practices, identify, and fill those gaps by promoting operational excellence engagements in areas including but not limited to:

  1. OCI technology domains.

  2. Change management processes (migration, patching, configuration management, dependency management etc.)

  3. Escalation management within Oracle.

The CAA will also be the customer’s advocate within Oracle and will identify gaps in OCI ecosystem that impacts customers’ operational efficiencies and interlock with OCI product engineering and Operations to remediate them. The India CAA will function in a “buddy” partnership with the NA CAAs to provide 24X7 coverage to our customers on both proactive and reactive engagements.

Responsibilities displayed in the job posting

  1. Ability to architect cloud solutions for migrating workloads from on-prem / 3rd party cloud to OCI.

  2. Deep understanding of Cloud platforms, technology and migration processes and tools.

  3. Drive OCI consumption in partnership with the pre-sales teams - Enterprise architect and Cloud Platform Rep.

  4. Help identify new workloads for migration which will ensure we sustain and increase customer’s OCI consumption.

  5. Identify and position select operational excellence engagements which will help increase the maturity of the customer’s OCI deployment and ensure they manage their tenancy more effectively.

  6. Facilitate escalation support management for business impacting high severity issues for the customer, which will help improve customer satisfaction.

  7. Provide top NA Cloud customers with implementation guidance, product expertise and best practices to better optimize customer’s use of OCI, Exadata Cloud Systems, Oracle Apps, etc.

  8. Demonstrate deep expertise in one or more technical domains like OCI compute, storage, network, database, analytics, etc.

  9. Serve as a technical connection from CAA to Product Management, Development and Support teams within OCI.

  10. Lead the CAA team technically and mentoring them on deep dive technical areas.

  11. Possess relevant cloud certifications in core cloud architecture and specializations. For e.g., OCI (Professional, Cloud operations, OCI Developer), ADW, OCI Enterprise Operations, or equivalent AWS, Azure and GCP certifications

  12. Partners with customers, sales, engineering / product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems.

  13. Additionally and as needed,

  14. Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations to design and implement solutions.

  15. Works directly with customers to validate requirements, develop architectures and translates adjacencies’ business needs into solutions.

  16. May mentor implementing solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting advice within bounds.

  17. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events.

  18. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training.

  19. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor may provide direction and mentoring to others.

  20. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.

Minimum qualifications include 15+ years’ experience with computer applications and tools required.

Ability to travel international and domestic as needed.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the United States only

Hiring Range: from $107,000 to $185,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
