Insight Global Desktop Technician I in Tallahassee, Florida

Job Description

This is highly technical work supporting and maintaining a wide variety of in-house technologies and IT assets. Work involves configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all IT hardware, software and peripherals, ensuring optimal performance of desktops, laptops, tablets, printing/scanning devices, mobile devices (phones and ipads), cameras and presentation equipment. Work also involves performing the technical tasks required to analyze and evaluate data network hardware/software configurations and connectivity problems including authentication and security systems. This position will serve as a communication conduit between OIT and those served. Other activities include research, design, document, and modify system specifications throughout the production life cycle. This role supports at least one infrastructure component (described in Knowledge and Experience). Support of vendor supplied solutions is another major role of the position which requires coordination and collaboration with vendor representatives, configuration of system parameters, scripting, report generation, and training of end-users. This role supports primary software administrators and resident experts on system applications (described in Knowledge and Experience). The person in this role may be required to train new team members.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field OR equivalent experience

proficiency in 1 area: virtual desktop infrastructure, Microsoft O/S, Sound system, Presentation system, Video wall system, Multi-County or enterprise solutions or infrastructure, Microsoft Office suite support Anti-virus system, Application control system, Mobile Device Management (MDM) system, Mobile device use with County systems (with and without VPN), Networked print device management, TV/Streaming Broadcasting , Cybersecurity analysis, Password management in Active Directory, Group management in Active Directory, Inventory control system, Smartsheet creation with complex forms and logic.
