JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Revenue Program Administrator I - SES position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting (RRA) Process. The incumbent provides leadership, holds employees accountable to the Department's Standards of Conduct, models ethical behavior, and demonstrates the Department's mission, in directing the activities of the Department's Revenue Accounting Section. The incumbent serves in the Process Office as Chief Financial Accountant, assists RRA management in ensuring timely and accurate financial postings and fund reconciliations/distributions, oversees the general ledger and related accounting entries, and coordinates and reviews the year end adjusting entries for the Statewide Financial Statement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six years of professional accounting or auditing experience.

  • Three years of experience with financial reconciliations and fund disbursements.

  • Three years of experience supervising or managing employees.

    SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in accounting, finance, or a degree in a STEM Field (science, technology, engineering, or math) can substitute for four years of professional accounting or auditing experience.

  • A Master’s degree in accounting or area of business can substitute for one year of professional accounting or auditing experience.

    PREFERENCES:

  • Experience with the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).

  • Experience with reconciliation and distribution of state taxes.

  • Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) and Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM).

  • Experience with governmental accounting.

    SALARY: $63,990.48 - $83,499.96.
