Role Overview

The Sr. Engineer, Enterprise Resiliency is a first line of defense position responsible for leading the architecture, engineering and implementation of Availability, Disaster Recovery and Backup/Restore services and solutions. Drive resiliency solutions for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises technologies (automation, recovery scripts, backup solutions, high-availability, failover). Leads effort to develop availability, failover and recovery scripts or automated resiliency capabilities to ensure critical technologies are continuously available, secure, and hardened.

Role Accountabilities include

  • Advanced understanding of resiliency solutions, strategies, and methodologies

  • Advanced/Broad knowledge of multiple IT infrastructure technologies, including cloud, hybrid, co-location, and on-premise servers, storage, network, firewall, and backup/replication capabilities

  • Research, analyze and document architecture diagrams of technology components as well as interdependencies, networking, and firewall requirements

  • Lead the effort to implement cost-effective resiliency solutions using cloud technologies and capabilities

  • Lead the development of recovery scripts and test/troubleshoot numerous failure scenarios in those new environments

  • Drive resiliency solutions along with implementation and configuration of resiliency related code / automation

  • Lead the implementation of resiliency solutions using automation, resiliency technologies, distributed computing, cloud operations, hybrid cloud environments, and cloud migration projects

  • Lead Availability and Disaster Recovery testing

  • Drive project teams to identify and document resiliency risks and remediation plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of or certification in AWS, GCP or Azure preferred

  • Experience with AWS related to deployment of code. (Cloud Formation, Code Build, Code Commit, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline, Elastic Cloud Computing (EC2), EC2 Container Service (ECS), Elastic Beanstalk, Opsworks)

  • Experience with GCP related to deployment of code (GKE, GCP Cloud Functions, Code Pipeline and Docker images)

  • Recent experience with scripting or programming using modern programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, Go, Perl, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of data management across disparate locations (replication techniques of filesystems and multiple databases, eventual consistency constraints, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of network failover strategies and relationships to application Web/API designs (DNS, load balancers, etc.)

  • Platform engineering, architecture, and distributed systems experience (Unix, Windows, SAN, NAS, Networking, etc.) in enterprise environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of one or more private cloud-based technologies (e. g. vCloud, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry)

  • Disaster Recovery, High-Availability, testing, resiliency patterns, and program knowledge

  • Experience with agile methodologies and software development practices.

  • Experience implementing data-driven automation (Puppet, Ansible or equivalent)

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Anticipated salary range: $119,800 - $171,100
