About the Industrial Innovation Program and GRIT Symposium Event

This6–9-month internship programempowers you to transform sustainability challenges into real-wo solutions within Dow's Packaging and Specialty Plastics (PS&P) business. Starting between July and September 2024, you’ll work on scientific-driven R&D projects related to low and high-density polyethylene, polyolefin elastomers & plastomers, synthetic rubbers, functional ethylene copolymers, polyurethane & acrylic adhesives, and several compounded products. Throughout your journey, a coach will provide you guidance while an experienced colleague from the PS&P business will support you in your daily tasks.

TheGRIT Symposium –taking place on May 13 – is more than a typical virtual talent event – it’s an opportunity for STEM master’s students to join our Industrial Innovation Campus (I2C) Program within the Research & Development department of Dow’s Packaging and Specialty Plastics (PS&P) business in Tarragona, Spain

Responsibilities

This 6–9-month internship program empowers you to transform sustainability challenges into real-world solutions within Dow's Packaging and Specialty Plastics (PS&P) business. Starting between July and September 2024, you’ll work on scientific-driven R&D projects related to low and high-density polyethylene, polyolefin elastomers & plastomers, synthetic rubbers, functional ethylene copolymers, polyurethane & acrylic adhesives, and several compounded products. Throughout your journey, a coach will provide you guidance while an experienced colleague from the PS&P business will support you in your daily tasks.

P&SP Overview:

P&SP is committed to being innovative, inclusive, customer-centric, and sustainability-driven. We focus on developing new technologies and applications to deliver value growth while making a positive impact on society and the planet.

Qualifications

  • Currently studying a master's degree or equivalent in chemistry, chemical engineering, or material science.

  • Good working knowledge of English; Spanish or German is a plus.

  • Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and organizational skills are desired.

  • Passion for materials and polymer science, along with innovative ideas.

  • Enthusiastic, respectful of project deadlines, and a good team player.

Preferred Skills

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Laboratory experience is advantageous.

Duration

  • The internship is for 6–9 months, starting between July to September 2024.

Selection Process:

  • Introductory call with HR: Eligible candidates will have an introductory call with an HR.

  • GRIT Symposium event: Candidates are invited to join the event on May 13, where they will engage in a case study to demonstrate their approach to handling and resolving a particular challenge.

  • Offer: The person who is considered the best fit will be offered to join our Industrial Innovation Campus Program.
