We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Geo-environmental Consultant to join our established team based in the southwest. You will work within our southwest ground engineering team, contributing to broader multi-disciplinary projects as part of our regional development capability and being part of a national community of ground engineering professionals. Your office location can be flexible across our regional office base, with options to work from Exeter, Taunton or Bristol.

Our team provides contaminated land, geotechnical and geohazard consultancy services to the land development and infrastructure sectors. We work holistically across these disciplines to provide value-driven solutions. We contribute to various local and national projects and frameworks with private clients/developers on the investigation, assessment, remediation and redevelopment of brownfield land and support internal teams for road, rail, and other infrastructure and energy projects.

We require an ambitious team player with the technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience to take day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme. The position requires you to interact with other members of a multi-disciplinary teams, clients, sub-contractors and fellow professionals.

About You

We're seeking a top-tier Ground Engineering Consultant to join our team. You'll possess a relevant degree in engineering or science (geology, hydrogeology, etc.) and ideally hold a further postgraduate qualification. Extensive postgraduate experience and active pursuit of chartership with a relevant professional body is essential. Additional certifications like SoBRA, RoGEP, or CL:AIRE DoW:CoP will also be highly valued.

Your expertise lies in designing, managing, and supervising ground investigations. You'll excel at collecting accurate site data, analyzing soil, water, and gas data, and preparing reports like Preliminary Risk Assessments, Factual Reports, Interpretative Reports (including GQRA), and, ideally, DQRA.

Experience across associated technical areas like geohazards, geotechnics, earthworks, and hydrogeology is ideal, but your day-to-day activities will mainly involve writing compelling proposals, managing resources effectively, and providing technical leadership to junior team members.

You will hold a strong understanding of relevant codes of practice, industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety protocols and be comfortable with travel within the UK. A full UK driving license is also required.
