Amazon Senior Manager, Supply Chain, Global Logistics, New Launch & Strategic Initiatives in Tempe, Arizona

Description

Amazon's Inbound New Vendor Freight (NVF) Orchestration team is embarking on a transformative journey to convert the Inbound Cross-Dock (IXD) network into a two-tier model, aiming to achieve full connectivity between any inbound node and fulfillment center for seamless inventory routing to meet customer demand. We are seeking a Senior Manager to spearhead this strategic initiative and work with partner teams to drive the successful implementation of the two-tier cross-dock model.

In this pivotal role, you will focus on critical areas involving the conversion of existing Core IXDs into regional IXDs (rIXDs) and the launch of up to 24 new national IXDs (nIXDs) to establish the two-tier network. Your efforts will be instrumental in minimizing controllable risks associated with inbound flow and network health, while improving scalability and optimizing connectivity within the inbound network. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in implementing existing planning models, such as Iris, to balance site-level workload, facilitate agile inventory delivery, and mitigate potential bottlenecks. This role will be at the forefront of transforming the inbound network into a more efficient, well-connected, and demand-responsive system.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of the IXD network conversion to the two-tier cross-dock model, ensuring seamless inventory routing and demand fulfillment.

  • Oversee the conversion of existing Core IXDs into regional IXDs (rIXDs) and the launch of up to 24 new IXDs (nIXDs) to establish the two-tier network.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate controllable risks associated with inbound flow and network health, ensuring minimal disruptions during the transition.

  • Implement existing planning models, such as Iris, to balance site-level workload, facilitate agile inventory delivery, and mitigate potential bottlenecks.

  • Develop and execute strategies to improve scalability and optimize connectivity within the inbound network, enabling efficient inventory routing and demand fulfillment.

  • Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, driving operational excellence and cost optimization.

  • Foster collaboration and alignment with internal stakeholders, including Inbound/Outbound Supply Chain Execution, Amazon Transportation, NACF Operations, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, SCOT, Finance, FBA, and Retail teams.

  • Engage with global Amazon business units to share best practices and leverage insights for enhancing end-to-end outcomes for Amazon customers.

A day in the life

Each day with the Inbound NVF Orchestration team is Day 1! Through your leadership and strategic initiatives, you will contribute to significant business impact, including reduced operational costs, enhanced customer experience, increased network throughput, improved adherence to delivery service level agreements, and optimized inventory spread across the network.
