Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking an individual to provide intermediate level health and safety consulting services for a variety of clients (including construction, transportation and utility client) within our team. This position will be based out of the Nashville, Tennessee office and will support and coordinate the health and safety projects for our clients nation-wide.
This role will report directly to the U.S. Team Lead of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health and Safety Consulting Services.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide occupational health and safety (OH&S) consulting services for a variety of projects and clients.
Assisting and supporting OH&S staff and projects domestically and internationally.
Assist in the development of OH&S related programs and procedures, training modules.
Conduct OH&S compliance auditing.
Assist with project pre-job planning and hazard assessments.
Perform appropriate monitoring for weather, heat stress, cold stress, chemical compounds, physical hazards, and other work environmental conditions and ensure appropriate protocols are followed to protect workers.
Promote occupational, health, and safety within the company with a goal of continuous improvement of safety culture both internally and with our clients.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
An individual possessing a minimum of five years construction experience managing safety programs on large construction projects.
Be knowledgeable concerning Federal and State regulations applicable to construction safety.
Possess “Competent Person” certification in construction safety disciplines related to the work performed and possess verifiable training.
Have successfully completed at minimum, the OSHA 510 & 500 Safety and Health Course. This requirement may be waived in lieu of a safety and health degree or professional safety certification.
Training and current certification for CPR/First Aid/AED is required and able to react to emergencies.
Be capable of leading and/or supporting accident investigations and developing a concise accident root/apparent cause analysis.
Must be able to develop and present safety meetings and training.
Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
Satisfactory driving record and valid drivers’ license.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or working towards certification by the Board of Safety Professionals
Education and Experience
A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
5 to 10 years of relevant field work experience in an occupational, health, and safety role.
Travel may be required up to 75% of the time, mainly across the continental US, with potential for overnight stays up to 3 weeks.

Salary Range(s):
NYC $50/ Outside NYC $40 - NYC $73/ Outside NYC $58 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY
SF Area $50/ Other CA Areas $44 - SF Area $73/ Other CA Areas $68 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
