Job Summary and Qualifications

Position summary: Under the direction of the Supervisor of Imaging Services: Coordinates the Daily patient flow, quality assurance, clinical performance compliance, scheduling of shifts for all personnel of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and Transportation services. Performs technical procedures as required.

Position responsibilities:

  • Capable of assuming full responsibility for one or more modalities

Provides pertinent patient history as needed by Radiologists for interpretation Demonstrates knowledge in producing radiographs or other diagnostic imaging.

  • techniques on patients of all ages: newborn, pediatrics, adolescence, adult, and geriatric

  • Practices sterile techniques within the framework of the hospital policies

  • Ensures radiation safety and infection control for patients and hospital staff in accordance with prescribed state and federal guidelines and hospital policy Ensures competency and education of staff to perform specific modalities. Includes but is not limited to age specific competencies and annual performance competencies

  • Ensures scheduling of staff to provide adequate coverage, meet patient and customer needs, and meet department /hospital goals

  • Stays current of developments in the Imaging field and maintains continuing education as required for licensure

Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience:

· Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers

· Current state licensure to practice medical imaging

· Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)

· Two (2) years practical experiences as radiological technologist

· Certified by the Indiana State Board of Health

· Certification: BLS must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
