UTHealth Houston is looking for a ServiceNow Developer who will provide professional skills and knowledge in formulating logical statements of business and management problems and provide solutions to issues utilizing more efficient operational procedures and electronic data processing equipment. We have implemented the ServiceNow application and software to work as our ticketing system in Information Technology, and also to help manage UTHealth's leasing of IT equipment to departments. You will work in tandem with a ServiceNow Administrator to help create solutions needed in the Information Technology space. Certification in ServiceNow is required for this role, and all candidates should have at least a year supporting this program.

In essence, your job will be to make data talk to data and optimize a process based on conditions; It will require a certain level of programming skills to make ServiceNow execute certain things on the backend of a task or query. You will be working with programs that track where software and hardware are located and helping to inventory assets in clinics with a remote database and ticketing system.

This role will be a combination of on-site and remote, depending on business needs and issues to resolve. It is a position that is eligible for all UTHealth Houston's benefits including medical care coverage and a pension plan run by the State of Texas. Position Summary:

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and solutions to support UTHealth Houston business processes.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, and forms.

  2. Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and applications using web services and APIs.

  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs.

  4. Utilize data import techniques and processes specifically related to Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Procurement modules.

  5. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented coding using JavaScript, SQL, Angular, REST, XML, and other relevant technologies.

  6. Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure the quality and stability of developed applications.

  7. Work closely with senior developers to implement best practices and adhere to coding standards.

  8. Assist in the configuration and administration of the ServiceNow platform.

  9. Participate in the evaluation and adoption of ServiceNow features and functionalities.

  10. Collaborate with end-users to provide support, resolve issues, and enhance existing applications.

  11. Maintain and update technical documentation related to development activities.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer required.

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator preferred.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associate's Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

One (1) year of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
