Robert Half Assistant Controller in the Woodlands, Texas

Description

We are looking for an Assistant Controller based in The Woodlands, Texas. This role will involve managing various aspects of the general ledger, preparing and consolidating financial statements and reports, and ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position falls within the industry of financial services and will require strategic planning and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and consolidate financial statements and reports

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger

• Ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards

• Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses

• Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and research accounting issues and standards for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

• Analyze and report cost variances

• Lead and supervise the accounting team during the closing process

• Review month-end account reconciliations of all companies

• Streamline existing processes and develop continuous improvement measures

• Manage ERP system and create report writing

• Coordinate all audit procedures performed by external auditors

• Prepare year-end audited financial statements of all entities

• Handle month-end accrual entries and revenue recognition process

• Review entries to record amortization of prepaid expenses

• Review and approve revenue invoices

Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is essential

• Proven experience in managing financial systems and budgets

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial planning software

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills

• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Strong understanding of data privacy standards

• Previous experience in a leadership role is a plus.
