Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines, including both mill and lathe machines. The role involves working in a job shop environment with large CNC machines and handling run times that can vary, with some lasting up to 6-8 hours. You will be setting up machines, performing tooling changes every shift, reading blueprints, and using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Additionally, you will work with G&M codes, edit programs at the machine using MasterCAM and Solidworks, and occasionally utilize manual machines and grinders. Experience with materials like low carbon and alloy tool steels is necessary.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate various CNC machines, including mill and lathe machines.
Work in a job shop environment with large CNC machines.
Handle run times that can vary, with some lasting up to 6-8 hours.
Perform tooling changes every shift.
Read blueprints and use measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Maintain tolerances of +/- 0.001.
Work with G&M codes and edit programs at the machine using MasterCAM and Solidworks.
Utilize manual machines and grinders as needed.
Operate machines such as Okuma, and work with Fanuc controls.
Essential Skills
6-8 years of CNC Machining experience.
Experience setting up machines and performing tooling changes.
Ability to complete program edits using G&M codes.
Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Ability to read blueprints.
Experience in a job shop environment, rather than production machining.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Experience maintaining tolerances of +/- 0.001.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with MasterCAM or Solidworks.
Experience operating both mill and lathe machines.

Work Environment
We have 6 total openings, with 2 on each shift. Shifts are as follows: First Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday; Second Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday – Friday, with a 12.5% shift premium; Third Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday – Thursday, with a 7.5% shift premium. Our facility is an older building with a lot of history, housing around 400 employees. We specialize in making custom machines for various industries.
