Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. Plant Manager - Franklin, Pa in Titusville, Pennsylvania

Grand Valley Manufacturing is seeking a Plant Manager for a new facility, in Franklin, Pa.  This position will train in our Titusville or Warren location and will assist in the set-up of the new facility. Once the plant is operational, the Plant Manager will be responsible for the organization and management of the day-to-day activities for plant operations. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the layout and organization of the new facility, including but not limited to: equipment, workflow, processes, staffing needs, etc.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to maximize the profitability of the plant.
  • Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs.
  • Direct and assign resources to optimize plant production and accomplish plantwide goals in the most effective way possible. 
  • Coordinate with Scheduling to develop Work Center schedules. Evaluate schedules and labor requirements to provide work direction and effectively balance labor resources to meet on-time delivery request.   Communicate with Vice President, Sales, and Scheduling when issues or discrepancies arise. 
  • Update and monitor the Plant Tracker for daily and monthly profitability. Respond to underperforming jobs and/or operators, indirect labor, and direct costs to correct results.  
  • Manage the daily processing of production, including but not limited to preparing new orders, expediting contract review process, and preparing work order routers, special tooling, and fixturing. 
  • Identify and fully utilize associates' strengths; determine weaknesses for development and training opportunities. 
  • Act as a technical resource to operators, assisting with troubleshooting and developing operator skills. 
  • Maintain favorable working relationships with employees through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive work environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High School Degree or GED equivalent required; five to seven years' management experience in a Manual and/or CNC machine facility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience operating a Manual and/or CNC Machine is preferred. 

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong written/verbal interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions. Must be able to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.  
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, rate, and percentage.       
  • Basic knowledge of Profit & Loss; able to distinguish between financial significance and insignificance. 
  • Competent with common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, micrometers, etc.) 
  • Able to work independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management.
  • Able to define, prepare, analyze, and present data pertaining to plant finances, efficiency, etc.  
  • Clear working knowledge and experience with machining equipment. Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc. 
  • Able to deal with confidential information. 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

The employee is required to wear safety shoes, safety glasses, and other personal protective equipment as designated. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from medium to loud. 

 

Additional Notes

Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Full-time work week is 40-55 hours, Monday -- Friday, 10-hour days Monday -- Thursday. 12-hour shifts are sometimes required to meet delivery schedules. Saturdays (1/2 days) as needed.
