Financial Analyst , Inbound Initiatives:

Amazon Japan is looking for an self-learned and self-motivated Financial Analyst to join Amazon Operations Finance headquartered in Tokyo. We welcome candidates from both within and outside from Japan. The position is to partner with Amazon Japan Operations, and will be given responsibility from the start to drive both business and financial decisions. Amazon Operations cover very dynamic and fast growing end-to-end supply chain processes from Inbound, Fulfillment Centers, Transportations (Amazon Transportation) to Last Mile (Amazon Logistics) across Japan, and this Financial Analyst position is expected to report for their business, execute controllership, evaluate new business ideas and perform data-intensive analysis with help of team members to make meaningful changes and improvements to the way we serve our customers – continuous improvements towards the vision.

Responsibilities include:

•Own financials for weekly/monthly closing

•Support business partners at planning process

•Analyze performance, find kaizen opportunities

The role will be based at our Tokyo headquarters with occasional travel to locations across Japan.

Key job responsibilities

●Analyzing and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful reports to drive business improvement and cost reductions

●Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data

●Perform weekly and monthly financial close, all planning, forecasting

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree

• 1+ years of experience in finance, accounting, consulting, or a related highly-analytic field

• Japanese fluency and English business level ability (written and oral communication skills)

• Strong PC modeling skills including intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups, bridge analysis etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

• Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse and SQL
