Amazon Program Manager, JP AMXL Network Planning, JP AMZL Network Planning & Expansion in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Amazon is handling hundreds millions of products in Japan. In terms of the business model, all of the items from the various suppliers are collected at Fulfillment Center(FC) at once. Then, they will be reached out to our individual customers via Delivery Stations(DS) , which are located in various locations in Japan. The latter part of logistics business to deliver the products from DS to customer is managed by Amazon Logistics(AMZL). AMZL is currently focusing on increasing number of DSs and expanding our networks in Japan so that we can reach out to more customers with better speed and cost.

The program manager for AMXL(Amazon Extra Large) is responsible for short-long term planning of middle mile network for heavy items like furniture and large home appliances in order to expand/optimize the network with better quality, speed and cost structure.

In more specific, this position will work with multi-functional teams including WW teams to bring JP network to the next level.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead AMXL middle mile network expansion and optimization program working with multi-functional team

  • Working with the Topology Data Analyst, kick-off projects with clear priority setting

  • Be an expert of using new tools developed in NA/EU and deploy it for Japan

  • Working with Operation and Account Management groups, implement the new topology

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Business level English and Japanese

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
