Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced Accountant with Sales & Use Tax experience to assist our growing client in the Tonawanda area. This is a contract opportunity slated to last for approximately 2-3 months.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, verify, and analyze sales and use tax returns to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Resolve any tax-related discrepancies or issues in a timely and accurate manner.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for tax filing.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge about tax laws, codes, regulations, and procedures.

• Assist in any sales and use tax audits, including the preparation of supporting documentation.

• Perform the monthly reconciliations of tax accounts.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and use tax, with a good understanding of tax concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Proven capability to handle multitask and meet deadlines.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel.
