What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll join a team at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale mobile projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Application Design Lead , within Capital Market’s Technology, specifically within the Regulatory Technology team, you will lead design activities of for a complex ecosystem of regulatory reporting applications. You’ll oversee the ideation and implementation of scalable, robust and performant solutions that enhance the client experience. You’ll work closely with development teams to ensure appropriate delivery of application services, and ensure adherence to standards and operating procedures.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application design activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead and actively participate in the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.

  • Understanding Requirements – Demonstrate extensive leadership ability in order to extract the most thoughtful user feedback and to lead a team of developers and designers in implementing their vision.

  • Relationship Management – Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement business process applications.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: 5+ years of hands-on software design and implementation. Experience creating comprehensive design documentation. Hands on experience designing and developing applications and technical expertise with C#, .Net, SQL, Python, Web API, MVC, Entity Framework, REST, React, Elasticsearch. Good understanding of SOLID Design principles. You have a deep understanding of Azure Cloud Services. Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture, Event Driven Architecture. Good understanding of DevOps methodology. Experience working in an Agile setup. It’s an Asset if: you have previously supported a Capital Markets client group.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.
