We are looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Toronto team. In this role you’ll participate in the development of technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections and details for various structural projects, including water /wastewater treatment, pumping stations, transportation, institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.

You’ll be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into the office), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings.

In this role, you'll support a Lead Engineer on large, complex projects with engineering design, reporting, analysis and calculations. You’ll have the opportunity to lead smaller scopes of design work independently. You’ll coordinate with architects and other engineers in progression of design, as well as provide direction and markups to BIM/CAD designers to develop the BIM and drawing sets. You’ll participate in client or contractor meetings and will support Contract Administration during construction through shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs and site visits.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineer registered in the Province of Ontario

  • 3-8 years of applicable experience in working as a licensed structural engineer in design of commercial or industrial buildings

  • Strong communication and technical writing skills

  • Experience with structural analysis software (i.e., STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, Visual Analysis, etc)

  • Experience with all aspects of building engineering design, including phases spanning from preliminary design through to construction
