Job Description

The Program Director, Bank Strategy is responsible for the success of strategic bank deliverables through the design and approach of key initiatives, as well as direct oversight, leadership and delivery of strategic programs aligned with segment goals. The role partners across Manulife Bank and works closely with various groups including product, sales, finance, and strategy to ensure strategic objectives achieve intended outcomes.

This role works closely with the bank executive leadership team and requires a combination of thought leadership as well as the ability to impact and influence an approach to problem solving, to leading pivotal initiatives, and seeing them to fruition.

Responsibilities:

· Drive critical initiatives fundamental to the success of the Bank’s strategy in partnership with business sponsors and teams

· Ensure business benefits are realized within set paraments of time, budget, and other KPIs.

· Partner with leaders across the Bank to ensure strategic program goals are translated to measurable action plans

· Communicate and drive action plans balancing resource and funding capacity constraints

· Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership and business partners

· Drive a client experience focus throughout all programs and challenge teams to innovate beyond current business norms

· Develop and lead an integrated plan for assigned program, ensuring key program metrics and success criteria are developed and achieved

· Supervise all elements of the strategic program, ensure a complete solution is delivered which considers the evolution of roles, process, technology, and data; partner with organizational change resources to drive business readiness across the organization

· Serve as a primary point of escalation and solutioning for extended business leaders

· As necessary investigate into specific initiatives/outcomes to remove roadblocks and solve emerging issues (may include facilitation of workshops, analysis of outside partnerships, resource planning, financial management etc.)

· Develop, empower, mentor and challenge business teams that include senior leaders

· Communicate/present consolidated key insights to leadership and identify/track any required actions or decisions

· Partner and collaborate across business and functional teams at all levels

· Engage teams in open discussions about progress against assigned program; ensure awareness and understanding via positive relationships enabled by trust

· Partner closely with Finance professionals to ensure program financials align with targets

Job Requirements:

· Proven experience leading complex, cross functional business strategic programs within the financial services industry

· Proven experience driving innovation within well-established organizations looking to move to the next level of success

· Proven experience working with cross-functional agile teams and projects

· Demonstrated experience working with senior executive leadership in refining a business strategy and seeing it to execution

· Proven track record to probe for understanding of risks and issues to ensure clarity and supports achievement of business objectives

· Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to form actionable plans.

· Proven experience as a creative and innovative thinker with the ability to challenge the status quo to drive significant change

· Highly self-directed and comfortable thinking through disparate processes, systems, solutions, and areas to leverage enterprise linkages to support successful change

· Ability to influence without direct authority, and highly effective negotiation and collaboration skills; shown success in building and maintaining relationships

· Strong ability to present complex ideas clearly, with an ability to handle the complexities of driving significant change and influence individuals across business boundaries to achieve objectives

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to provide updates to all levels, including senior management

· Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality while still meeting deadlines

· Strong financial foresight, with an ability to understand key metrics and their relation to business drivers

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, Economics, or equivalent

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
