We are looking for a highly motivated and personable individual to support our growing technical assistance team in Toronto, Ontario , supporting the delivery of large and complex projects including high-speed internet projects.

As a Project Consultant for the Technical Assistance Team , you will be responsible for undertaking and coordinating the delivery on multiple tasks. You will work with a team of technical professionals in coordinating and supporting oversight activities during procurement design, and construction phases. The role offers a flexible working environment allowing for remote work and regular visits to client site office in downtown Toronto as well as our Jacobs Toronto office on an as needed basis.

In this role you will:

  • Review and analyze project data for trends, prepare presentations and briefing material.

  • Advise the client on technical and/or commercial matters throughout procurement and implementation of major capital projects up to multi-million to billion dollars in value.

  • Support project management and coordinate delivery to scope, schedule, budget.

  • Coordinate activities and deliverables in the design and construction phase, leading to commissioning/testing and completion.

  • Coordinate with various discipline leads, including with client or partner organizations, to deliver project deliverables.

  • Triage support requests from internet service providers, utility companies, municipalities, and other stakeholders, and work with subject matter experts to address.

  • Coordinate and engage with stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of disputes.

  • Document project risks, actions, and issues, and assist in identifying strategies and next steps.

  • Champion the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations.

  • Support client and stakeholder relationships development.

  • Work with the sales team, as required, on proposal development.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, construction management, or business administration with related career experience.

  • 3-6 years of experience in project coordination, business analytics and/or construction inspection/oversight of major capital projects in Ontario.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience preparing presentations, briefing material, memos, and technical reports.

  • Collaborative and team-oriented as well as highly resourceful and self-directed, with a key focus on important skills including communications, time management, teamwork, report writing, and proposal preparation.

  • Empathy, self-awareness, and career enthusiasm.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Recently obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

  • Experience on internet, electrical transmission/distribution, transportation and/or municipal engineering and construction.

  • Experience with working directly with stakeholders and clients including but not limited to internet service providers, utilities, municipalities, Provincial/Municipal/Federal government departments/ministries or crown corporations.

  • Experience monitoring delivery budgets on complex multi-phase capital projects.

  • Experience with alternative delivery models.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience working with CAD and GIS platforms.
