What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC’s Security Engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in all matters of Network Security. You’ll focus on assessing projects for security risks by examining and interpreting requirement documents and architecture diagrams. We are looking for a digitally savvy action-oriented, collaborative, and innovative individual that would be responsible to designing, building and deploying the organizations most critical Information Security solutions. The Sr. Information Security Consultant will be responsible for completing proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology exercises on new security offerings as well as designing and implementing successful solutions. How You’ll Succeed

  • Network Security Engineering - Responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of security infrastructure systems and equipment that meet the needs of a large enterprise. Constantly evaluating our security posture and staying up to date with relevant industry perspectives with focus on “Zero-Trust”, Identity, Security, Micro segmentation & Networking topologies and protocols, examples being BGP, MPLS, VRF, SIP, Traffic Shaping / QoS, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel, Static routing

  • Leadership & Communication – Collaborate with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance information system security. Weigh business needs against security concerns and provide risk-based recommendations to improve information systems security, which are practical and achievable, thereby allowing the Lines of Business to make informed risk decisions.

Who You Are

  • You have a strong technical background in systems and network security, along with excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills, are also essential. Strong understanding of routing Firewall and VPN; Paolo Alto next gen certifications preferred. The following certifications will be an asset- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CISM – Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), ISSEP – Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP), Microsoft Certified - Azure Security Engineer Associate

  • You can demonstrate experience with adopting Zero Trust - It’s an asset if you are motivated by Prisma Strata products (Prisma Access, NGFW, CDL, CIE, XOAR, AIOPs) & can provide in-depth knowledge of network security for a large scale financial organization. In addition, you can demonstrate experience with integration into Cloud environments/services/SaaS, Identity platforms like Azure Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID & can demonstrate solutions for monitoring complex production environments.

  • You can demonstrate experience in Network Security - It’s an asset if you have Palo Alto Command line experience & automation with XOAR. In addition, knowledge of maintaining and building URL Filtering, SSL Decryption, Wildfire, Threat Prevention, DNS Security, Global Protect, HIPs Policies across multiple regions, campus locations and environments. Provide support for other engineers across the organization and provide teamwork towards Palo Alto services/equipment/software for hard to solve integration issues with Global Protect, End Point tools, routing, identity services and platform related issues including (MAC, Android, iPhone and Windows OS). Provide solutions for CIBC LOB’s within our organization who identify new requirements and have strong regulatory needs. You will partner with multiple vendors to advocate & understand their roadmaps and how they influence our roadmap, recognize success and work through complex requirements which may result in requesting new feature requests to help address the interests of our bank.

  • You know that details matter – You are goal driven and can partake in iterative reviews that drive more secure systems, understand the importance of documentation, automation, control testing, compliance reporting, change management and can manage the evolving enquiry and assessment of risk required by a large enterprise who understands the importance of security and system availability that needs to meet multiple regulatory body’s needs (PCI, OSFI, B-13, etc)

  • You act as an owner –You know that relationships matter, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and can prioritize workload to adhere to timelines, and manage projects with adept customer-service skills.
