Come join the Tax Development Organization as a Tax Content Analyst 2 in Toronto (Hybrid). You will have the opportunity to be exposed to how the tax law is integrated with software development. This may include interpreting tax compliance requirements, developing/testing software, and influencing our user experience.

What you'll bring

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or equivalent experience.

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or enrollment in CPA certification program is an asset.

  • 3+ years of experience preparing and/or reviewing federal and provincial tax returns, such as T1/TP-1, T2/CO-17/AT1, T3/TP-646, T5013/TP-600 etc.

  • Strong background in tax research and analysis and a deep understanding of Canadian tax law.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and complex tax issues in non-technical language for consumption inside and outside of the organization.

  • Comprehensive understanding and use of tax preparation software (experience using TaxCycle, TaxPrep and ProFile is an asset).

  • Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software

  • Prior programming/coding experience preferred

  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM and IT project management is an asset.

  • Experience with software programming and testing is an asset.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Fluency in French (spoken and written) is an asset.

  • How you will lead

  • Identify, analyze, and accurately update tax calculations and forms within the software by creating detailed specification for engineers

  • Test tax calculations/user experience/form display changes within the software.

  • Apply tax, accounting and business knowledge to develop/improve new software features

  • Work with federal/provincial tax authorities to certify our tax products.

  • Participate in the development and documentation of key operational processes and checklists, and product specifications.

  • Work with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues and deal directly with clients, as needed.

  • Continually assess and drive process and tool improvements.

  • Able to effectively prioritize individual and team work to ensure delivery of product features with the highest quality and customer value.
