Home Care Assistance of Barrie, Ontario Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Tottenham, Ontario

We are seeking a PSW or DSW for a group home in Tottenham. Evening and night shifts are available. We are looking for part-time to full-time staff that can commit to working every other weekend. Shifts can vary from 6hrs-12hrs.

Areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Providing resident-focused care that meets the needs of residents
Supporting residents in all areas of daily living including: behaviour management, community involvement, recreation, and education
Maintaining open communication with residents and their families
Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
Responding to all emergency situations
All other duties, as assigned
Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:
PSW or DSW certification
Valid CPR certificate
Completion of Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Satisfactory professional references
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a group home is required
All staff are required to have a drivers license, car insurance, and their own vehicle
Preference will be given to candidates who have CPI training*
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
