General Atomics Technician in Tupelo, Mississippi
General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is a supplier of advanced electromagnetic systems, related power equipment and other high technology products for a variety of government and commercial applications. These include products such as the design and fabrication of linear motors, superconducting and conventional rotating motors, power inverters, high-energy capacitors, radiation monitoring systems, high-voltage direct current power distribution systems, and numerous other products.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS. This position supports standard production operations on electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists engineering staff and lead technicians in manufacturing development activities of mechanical assemblies.
Assists with the modification, fabrication, assembly, operation, installation, repair and maintenance of production and assembly equipment.
Operates specialized manufacturing equipment for production of large mechanical assemblies.
May operate heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes, lifts) to aid in the installation and removal equipment requiring a clean and valid driver’s license.
Maintains a clean work area by returning tools, equipment, and materials to storage areas.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required.
Works in a team environment with other members in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent with one or more years of experience.
Must be able to work with common hand tools.
Must have the capability to perform moderate assignments with little or no direction.
Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, or cryogens.
Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
Ability to be flexible with schedule to accommodate night shifts.
