Job Posting Title Maintenance Planner Job Description Summary American Axle is growing! AAM is looking to fill a Maintenance Planner position to support the Twinsburg, Ohio Manufacturing Facility team. As Maintenance Planner, you act as owner of the maintenance planning database, documenting equipment maintenance and history, parts, tools, and supplies inventories, and crew skills information. You will identify and report on potential problem areas, and make recommendations to increase efficiency and lower down time. In addition, the MP will coordinate with purchasing and vendors on acquisition and disposal of equipment, including providing support for new equipment installation, setting up Preventive Maintenance programs for all new equipment and ensuring that current PMs are being performed correctly. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment as part of a maintenance team, or have understanding of maintenance through relevant college courses or certifications. They will be willing to work overtime and outside of normal business hours as needed. Job Description Operates within PLEX to enter, assign, and complete Work Orders, maintain equipment maintenance data, and create requisition requests for the Maintenance Department in regard to equipment repair items and shop supplies. Equipment Maintenance scheduling of work orders, personnel requirements, required parts acquisition and follow-up accountability. In emergency situations "parts acquisitions" can require overtime. Evaluates and updates preventive maintenance procedures and schedules by identifying and evaluating least-cost alternative schedules based on availability and location of parts, tools, supplies, and crew skills, and machine downtime. Develops corrective maintenance schedules by entering work requests; identifying best-sequence/least-cost approach; estimating time, parts, tools, and supplies. Assists purchasing department with normal vendor contacts regarding plant and machine maintenance, managing and tracking parts for maintenance projects. Give equipment parts min/max level suggestions to the tool crib manager based on machine use history or OEM recommendations. Communicate with Purchasing on new parts that need to be added to inventory. Issue job status reports and machine history reports to leadership as needed. Track non-standard JSAs and report to EHS Coordinator. Improves maintenance operations by reviewing production records; analyzing prevention and repair costs and time; identifying problems and trends; recommending new approaches. Other duties deemed necessary by Maintenance Department Manager. Required Skills and Education Completed degrees or relevant certifications in Maintenance or manufacturing field OR combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a maintenance role in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
