THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation Engineering District 12-0 has an exciting career opportunity in the Right of Way section of our Design Unit. We are seeking candidates to fill a Right of Way Administrator 1 vacancy.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position performs advanced technical work in a staff capacity and supervises general acquisition functions to secure legal rights-of-way or real estate for other public purposes.

Supervises other employees involved in claims settlement, or general real estate acquisition functions; and emphasis is placed upon the effective completion of projects to meet established schedules and priorities, or the comprehensive review of a variety of real estate acquisition or related documents and reports.

Assignments are received in broad outline and completed work is reviewed by an administrative superior for results obtained and adherence to established policies and objectives. Provide guidance and feedback to both staff and acquisition consultants regarding acquisition, relocation, condemnation, excess land, litigation, negotiation procedures, right of way challenges and property owner concerns.

Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local regulations including the Uniform Act, Publication 378, the Eminent Domain Code, Publication 98 and other applicable right of way procedures.

  • Work hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Monday - Friday; 30 minute lunch

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Real Estate Specialist or Real Estate Specialist Supervisor; ORThree years of experience in technical real estate work, and a bachelor's degree; ORFour years of experience in technical real estate work, and an associate's degree; or satisfactory completion of two years of college; ORAny equivalent combination of experience and training.
