The University of Illinois College of Law in Urbana Champaign is one of the oldest law schools in the country, with an accomplished and influential faculty, a smart and collegial student body, and a strong alumni network. In addition to its full-time faculty, the College of Law regularly employs distinguished lawyers and academics as adjunct professors. The College of Law is currently accepting applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach legal writing.
The legal writing course will meet in the Law Building in Champaign and will require a two-semester commitment (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025). Class will meet two days per week for fifty minutes and will also require additional time most weeks to hold one-on-one meetings with students and to provide feedback on assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
A JD and two or more years of legal experience are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience and a current law license are strongly preferred.
Appointment Information
These are 10% Academic positions appointed for both the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. They are paid on a 9/12 basis. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2024. Salary is \$20,000 for the academic year. These positions are not eligible for University benefits.
