Position Summary
The Department of Physical Therapy at Utica University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-eligible, Professor of Practice faculty position in the on-campus, entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This is a 9-month appointment. The start date is August 1, 2024.

Major Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities are currently taking place during the traditional fall and spring semesters.
The candidate will primarily teach in the neuromuscular system courses. Based on departmental needs, the candidate may also teach in other content areas, including pediatrics, geriatrics, other systems (e.g., integumentary, genitourinary, etc.), or other areas based on the candidate’s areas of expertise.
The candidate will conduct research and service appropriate for the Program and University’s expectations.
As a DPT Program faculty member, the candidate will participate in undergraduate and graduate student academic advising and professional mentoring.

Education & Experience Qualifications
At a minimum, the candidate must have a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and ABPTS Specialist Certification (e.g. NCS , PCS ) or two years of relevant clinical experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Candidates with prior higher education teaching experience.
The candidate must have a current unrestricted license or eligibility for PT licensure in New York State.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
Contemporary expertise in neuromuscular physical therapy and/or ABPTS Certification.
A commitment to innovation and student-centered learning.
A commitment to develop a scholarly agenda and engage in research.
Ability to engage in service activities in the department, at the University, and in the surrounding community.
Ability to function well within a collegial, collaborative work environment.
