0 Responsibility & Authority :

6.1 To assist HOD in documentation, implementation and maintenance of laboratory Quality, Health, Safety and Environment system as per ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 with BV internal requirements;

  1. To assist HOD in reporting the performance of Quality System to the management and arranging the management

review meeting;

6.3 To assist HOD in creating, updating, protecting and implementation of SOPs, WINs, CPs, OCP’s, OI. s, LOP’s, formats, all level 4 documents;

  1. To assist HOD in assuring validity of results through repeatability/reproducibility of the tests, ILT/PT programs, IQC,

control charts etc;

  1. Check for implementation of Location Document in CPS Doc;

  2. To HOD in recording of Corrective Action taken including root cause analysis and monitoring of effectiveness and

documentation of the same;

6.7 To assist HOD in Test Method Control (ISO, AATCC, ASTM etc.) check for availability, Quotation receiving, indent raising & controlling;

6.8 Assist HOD in maintaining LTO’s with timely application submission and follow-up;

6.9 Must be able to disseminate best practices within the location;

6.10 Actively conduct the Safety tool box talks among the employees on regular basis;

6.11 Provide dedicated supervision / fire watch when hot-work, height work or other activity is taking place in the premises that could be hazardous especially by third party employees;

6.12 Apply and respect safety, health and environment requirement in daily activities;

6.13 Watch for potentially hazardous working conditions or work practices and report them to concern department as soon as possible;

6.14 Identify and communicate HSE risks;

6.15 Ensure all the HSE related checklist are up to date and is regularly filled by the concerned department;

6.16 Conduct routine safety inspection;

6.17 Watch for unsafe acts & unsafe conditions and arrange to prevent /mitigate it;

6.18 Ensure that adequate & proper types of Fire Extinguisher are available, maintained & ensure proper maintenance record;

6.19 Ensure the delivery and upgrade (as needed) of HSSE training programs to all employees;

6.20 Organize Fire drills, chemical drills etc. and retain records for Emergency Preparedness and Response;

6.21 Maintain records of required HSSE trainings & Certifications;

6.22 Review of permit to work.

6.23 Organizing and participation in global campaigns.

6.24 Ensuring that personnel are properly equipped with safety equipment;

6.25 Any other duties assigned by HOD.

7.0 HSE Responsibilities: All Employees

7.1 Allemployees must comply with Local Legal requirements as well as the applicable Group QHSSE Policies, Procedures and their requirements;

7.2 Employees are requested to communicate to their immediate Manager any unsafe work practices or condition and opportunities for improvement of HSSE practices;

7.3 Employees are responsible for their own personal safety and must make sure before undertaking any task that all conditions related to their safety are met and that the risk is nil according to their best judgment. must make sure according to their best judgment;

7.4 If anyEmployee wants to anonymously report an Ethic breach, an alert line has been set up by the Risk and Compliance Officer

1 ) Design and maintain the integrated HSE management system

  • Follow-up and report HSE KPI’s to management

  • Must be able to identify local high risk activities and ensure that processes are in place to protect employees

  • Must be able to identify and disseminate best practices within the country

  • Ensure that appropriate measure / Personal Protective Equipment is correctly identified, fit for purpose and correctly maintained for all laboratory or office activities.

  • Support the laboratory or office maintain existing HSE programs (certified or not)

  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audit programs

  • Address specific reporting and records keeping requirements of BV Group / CPS, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirements as well as other pertinent safety/regulatory compliance matters to ensure the laboratory or office is in compliance

  • Actively participate in the scheduling of HSE meetings to review HSE performance and policies

2) Prevention management

  • Must be able to impart to staff incident risk management tools & techniques as needed

  • Increase awareness of costs and risks of poor performance and non-compliance

  • Periodic monitoring/verification of the application of safety procedures in the field by BV inspectors.

  • Develop training modules

3 ) Maintain and improve HSE performance

  • Implement HSE Policy (local or Corporate)

  • Advise the local senior management team for compliance to respective country/state/local HSE regulatory requirements

  • Implement Group Priorities, train and support management

  • Complete analysis (complaints, accident) and propose corrective actions with management, Follow up.

Track and report HSE performance to country management and to Regional HSE Manager.

4.0 Key Performance Indicators :

  • HSE KPIs – safety performance, energy use minimization, paper consumption etc

  • Review quality and effectiveness of internal HSE audits executed (completeness, correctness, timing, documentation, etc.)

  • Accident analysis and action plan
