Wiregrass Georgia Technical College AES Department Assistant FT in Valdosta, Georgia

Provides overall clerical support and data entry for Adult Education Services and unit employees in the southern region. Provides front-line customer service to all southern region customers of the Adult Education Services office. Provides unit information to prospective students via phone, email, mail or in person. Processes graduates, new, current, and returning students; assists with new student orientation and registration; assists in evaluating program readiness and wait lists; inputs student information and completes all other required forms. Monitors use of supplies, equipment and/or IT and facility needs. SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS Equipment Used: Standard office equipment. Working Conditions: Category III - No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Periodic travel between major Wiregrass campuses and satellite sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree and One (1) year of work related experience OR High School Diploma and Two (2) yearsrelated work experience AND Computer experience in database entry, MS Word, and MS Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or moreof the following: Experience with GALIS student database system or similar system and/or experience withinan adult education program.

SALARY/BENEFITS Salary is $32,000/yr. This position is full-time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leaveaccrual, options for health and other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify thesuccessful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or inpart by AES State funds.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check andemployment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checkssuch as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internalcandidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college. Other Required Tests: Noadditional tests are required for this position.Should a candidate be chosen for a 2nd interview, references which support prior work history andemployment experience will be contacted.
