The VSU women's basketball team won the Gulf South Conference championship this past season and VSU hosted the NCAA South Region Tournament.Position includes some weekend and holiday work based on season and team travel.
[Typical Allocation of Duties [Supervise, instruct, and train - 40% Supervise, instruct, and train student-athletes through practices and the monitoring of academic progress and through game-day team management.
Recruitment - 20% Recruit student athletes. Attend high school sporting events to identify potential recruits.
Oversee facilities - 15% Oversee the development and maintenance of sports facilities. Direct the maintenance of equipment and supply inventory.
Schedule, manage, and supervise - 15% Schedule games, manage team travel, and supervise assigned personnel.
Manage budget - 10% Manage scholarship, travel, operating, and equipment budgets. Coordinate sponsorship and fundraising events and programs.
