Description
PeaceHealth is seeking a full time Instructional Designer. The location of this role can be in any of our three networks in Bellingham, WA, Vancouver, WA or Springfield, OR.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $33.23 – $49.85. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
The Instructional Designer creates engaging learning activities and course content related to the CareConnect (Epic) Electronic Health Record application suite. Responsible for enhancing, supporting, and maintaining the CareConnect training environments, and supporting other CareConnect projects. Consults with leaders, program managers, analysts and other training professionals on leader and caregiver education needs. Collaborates with other training, operational, and support departments in system-wide training assessments and curriculum development to achieve strategic goals and initiatives. Designs and delivers standardized system training programs aligned with operational workflows for a wide variety of audiences addressing team and individual accountabilities. Mentors and supports Credentialed Trainers (CTs) in delivering training and responding to caregiver needs.
What you will enjoy:
Completes the analysis, design, development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of complex training programs using PeaceHealth training standards, processes, and templates. Measures and compares results to desired outcomes and objectives.
Configures, tests, and maintains CareConnect training environment build to support simulations and scenario-based learning. Adds and updates build as indicated by optimization bundles, system updates, and upgrades. Works in conjunction with Application & Technical team members to ensure consistency between Production and Training Environments.
Uses learning theory and technical knowledge to create and deliver a structured educational experience for learners that teaches them new information or improves their skill level in the EHR. Serves as advisor to all stakeholders on the appropriate delivery modalities for caregiver audiences. Conducts in-person and remote instructor-led education for caregivers in the assigned application(s) as needed.
Implements and/or upgrades existing systems, system optimizations, and new features/functions. Coordinates and develops support plans, prepares test data, executes test plans, processes test results and supports deliverables for the CareConnect training environments.
Receives and supports routine, complex, and escalated tickets via PeaceHealth’s ticketing system. Identifies and resolves issues independently. Serves as first level of support to help credentialed trainers solve complex problems. Analyzes ticket trends and stakeholder feedback to identify caregiver performance gaps and root causes.
Designs, develops, and maintains application-specific training materials, instructor manuals, eLearning modules, job aids, and documentation procedures using standardized tools and templates. Coordinates and organizes content library and Learning Home Dashboards.
Develops, deploys, and communicates new and updated materials to credentialed trainers for use in training delivery. Integrates CT feedback to adjust curricula and environment build to support optimal instruction and relevance to caregiver role. Partners with Super User Program Coordinators to communicate and share materials with super users.
Ensures CTs are trained and equipped to support caregivers in their assigned application area(s). Develops and implements Train-the-Trainer and credentialing programs for other training roles, super users, preceptors, and support services caregivers. Provides coaching to these roles to improve knowledge, classroom delivery, and/or instructional design skills.
Leads small to medium sized training projects independently or with direction and support from manager or director. Contributes to the use, improvement, and standardization of training processes and documentation.
Supports training logistics coordination including course scheduling, caregiver role mapping, collecting, and providing attendance data, in collaboration with other members of the team and operational managers.
Prioritizes and addresses urgent tasks; demonstrates flexibility when priorities change. Monitors time and is responsible for completing tasks and deliverables within the given deadlines independently.

What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience.
Master's Degree in Education, Instructional Design orPerformance Improvement preferred.
Minimum of 3 years experience in training, curriculum development and instructional design.
Experience implementing Epic systems and developing and delivering Epic training preferred.
Experience with large scale technology implementation development.
Experience with e-learning development process and common tools, such as Adobe Captivate preferred.
Experience with remote instructor-led training delivery and common tools, such as Microsoft Teams preferred.
Experience in a large or multi-campus healthcare organization preferred.
EPIC Certification required within 6 months.
Epic Training Environment Build certification and experience preferred.
Curriculum Development Certification/proficiency preferred.
Additional skills:
Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Technical training development, eLearning development tools, and familiarity learning management systems preferred.
Project management skills.
Proficiency in adult learning theory, motivation, and development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with projection equipment and/or webinar technology.
Able to travel up to 25% of the time within network and system.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Working Conditions
