Job Description

Position purpose:

Development of bacterial and yeast recombinant producents and cell banks for new biopharmaceutical products, development of QC methods, preparation of development plans and reports, experiments of methods qualification, methods transfer to Operations, continuous support of the products and troubleshooting.

KEY Responsibilities:

Design and perform gene engineering and expression research experiments together with the project team.

Development of analytical methods for use in cell banks quality analysis.

Maintains in-depth knowledge of relevant fields and techniques.

Presents proposals and project updates when required.

Gives ideas for new products and improvements to procedures

Qualification of quality control analytical methods in accordance with ICH guidelines requirements.

Independently prepare documents (SOP’s, instructions, reports of methods development and qualification) using background in the field.

Training of new colleagues and students

Contribution in others Enzyme Competence Center groups

Requirements:

BSc/ MSc in molecular biology, microbiology, genetic, biochemistry or other life science related field

Has a shown understanding of relevant scientific fields.

Demonstrates skill in all relevant laboratory procedures and use of equipment.

Analyzes experimental data, and successfully explains conclusions. Designs and drives follow-on experiments independently.

Maintains an accurate and detailed lab notebook.

Desired technical skills:

Gene engineering,

Cell banking,

Solutions and media preparation,

DNA/RNA analysis by qPCR,

DNA extraction,

DNA restriction,

DNA sequencing,

Protein analysis by SDS-PAGE,

Knowledge in statistical methods, regulations pertaining to cell therapy and biologics would be an advantage.

Mentors less-experienced staff with technical issues and project challenges.

Highly motivated to work in high pace environment, committed to complete all tasks on time.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €26 200,00–€39 250,00.
