Parsons Corporation Logistics Director (Drainage Systems/Tunnels) in United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Logistics Director to join our team. The Logistics Director is responsible full site wide logistics for every phase of a large infrastructure program, consisting of multiple drainage system and tunneling projects.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistics Director to lead this high-profile project, who has proven experience of leading successful rainwater drainage (stormwater), sewage network and tunnelling projects in the GCC and Internationally.

Duties include leading the planning and site set-up and production of the site-wide logistics plan for each phase of the program with oversight of the individual projects, taking into consideration a city-wide approach.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide overall technical leadership and direction for all logistics operations within the project. Develop and implement the logistics strategy, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Ensure that all logistics activities meet the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Develops Standard operating procedures for the site-wide logistics of the program and ensure there is operational consistency across the program.

  • Coordinate with all existing contractors, and future planned procurement of major contractors.

  • Plan and implement site-wide logistics strategies and approaches in accordance with the completed and approved site-wide logistics plan.

  • Lead the implementation and application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts, ensuring compliance and consistency across the delivery teams.

  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas, leading in the field of site-wide logistics.

  • Leads on unusually complex construction site-wide logistic problems and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with site and interface logistics leads.

  • Facilitates forming partnerships with key stakeholders and organizations impacted by the program.

  • Assigns work to employees, oversees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.

  • Interviews and selects personnel for assignment as required. 

  • Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent from a recognized university.

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 20 years’ experience related in related engineering projects.

  • Prior experience working on major infrastructure, drainage, sewage, tunnels, utilities projects essential.

  • Major earthworks and/or tunneling experience would be preferred.

  • Considerable experience at director level in client facing roles is essential.

  • GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience preferred

  • Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal / external correspondence; Ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders as required by the client

  • Understanding of the construction management at risk alternative delivery process and the functions inherent to construction management of large-scaled projects

  • Understanding of budget development and cost control specific to logistics operations.

  • Ability to manage and encourage a team of construction management professionals.

  • Knowledge of construction contract negotiation and administration

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints

  • Ability to identify and resolve complex logistics issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.

  • Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing relationships that complies with the client’s proactive, collaborative culture

  • Expertise in planning and coordinating logistics for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of materials and equipment.

  • In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles, including procurement, transportation, and inventory management.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of the project team, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations.

  • Familiarity with advanced logistics technologies and systems, including logistics software and tracking systems.
